1- New Features:
Furuno Route & Waypoint SD-Card exchange format
 |
MaxSea can be configured (in menu "Route->GPS Upload/Download") to exchange Route and Waypoint on SD-card with NavNet VX2. |
It has never been easier to plan your navigation on the computer and transfer the information using a regular SD-Card on NavNetVX2.
This feature is available with all MaxSea products including the Free MaxSea Planner.
New Waypoint Tool
MaxSea 12.6 introduces a new Waypoint Tool
Marks and Waypoints have been separated. Use the Waypoint tool to create Waypoints that are intended to be used for navigation, and use the Pencil Tool to draw marks on the charts (Point, Circle, Area, and Text).
The number of Marks Layers (PTF Files) and Waypoints are unlimited. Use the "File->New" item to create new layers, and hold on the Waypoint or Pencil tool to define on which layer you want to record the Waypoints or Marks.
Waypoints are more intended to be used for Recreational users, and Marks for Professionals. This feature is available with all MaxSea products.
New Ocean Currents available in Chopper
We are pleased to announce that ocean currents are now available in Chopper.
The coverage is for the Atlantic and Mediterranean (70°N, -27°S, -98°W, 36°E)

The resolution is very accurate (0.08 deg) and forecasts for up to 4 days are available.
Current information is very valuable for Pelagic Boats (you have to display Altimetry and currents at the same time in order to find the best fishing spots).
This is really useful as well for sailing boats; MaxSea will calculate the course (CTS) you need to follow in order to compensate for drift. To utilize current data, you just need to make an active route and set-up the "Weather Current" to be active (Under Tides and Current Icon). When it is set to Active, current data is taken into account in any calculation.

Direct Link to NavNet FAX-30
Now, you can directly access the NavNet FAX30 information from the Weather menu in MaxSea.

This will give you the capability of viewing and Setting up Worldwide Weather Fax directly from your computer.
Operating System Requirement
MaxSea Navigator, Commander and Explorer are now compatible with Vista.
MaxSea NavNet Commander, NavNet Explorer are not yet compatible with VISTA (we will release a free update in the upcoming months).
Please note that while MaxSea can be compatible with Vista, third party software like the C-Map NT PC selector software (required to Install C-Map charts) are not yet compatible with VISTA. In consequence, Windows VISTA is not a recommended operating system. We are recommending Windows XP pro that has a proven reliability.
Windows XP Pro is recommended for all MaxSea versions.
