What a Professional Routing is ?
Weather Routing is the calculation of the optimum course. The two most important factors involved in achieving the optimum course are the weather forecast and speed of the sailboat. Other influences include tidal and ocean currents that may cause the boat to drift significantly, depending upon the strength of the current.
MaxSea offers "true routing", which uses an algorithmic method to determine the optimum route
The program incorporates routing functions that which allow you to calculate the optimum course for your yacht given the forecasted conditions.
More specific option in the Routing Parameters inculding:
o Exact choice of the departure date (not limited to the weather forecast interval)
o Choice of the study angle
o Choice of number of Isochrons
o Efficiency Setup
You will also be allowed to:
- Select an alternate routing. This feature allows you to choose another option if he feels that it would be preferable.
- Modify the weather forecast to adjust observed condition.
- Launch a routing from a point (an opponent for example).
